The Built Environment Research Institute at The Faculty of Art, Design and the Built Environment at the University of Ulster received Grade 5, the highest rating, in the most recent UK universities’ Research Assessment Exercise, reflecting the international class quality of its research. It is recognised as one of the leading centres for real estate research in Europe. Its research focuses on property market analysis, property investment, urban regeneration and housing market issues, with particular emphases on urban renewal (including the benchmarking of performance within urban renewal areas) and the role of taxation in stimulating investment in property and renewal
