Shared Services on the Island of Ireland: Departmental perspectives on prospects for enhanced shared services across local government

The second ICLRD Shared Services Learning Network seminar takes place on Thursday 16th October at the Armagh City Hotel. The seminar, which begins at 16.00, will be addressed by Paul Dunne (Principal Officer, Local Government HR & Services, Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government), and Ian Maye (Deputy Secretary, Local Government, Road Safety & Corporate Services Group, Department of the Environment). The speakers will share their valuable insights into the ongoing reform of local government in both jurisdictions, with a particular emphasis on the implementation of shared services across administrative boundaries.
The outline of the seminar is as follows:

16.15 – 16.30 – Introduction – Chair
16.30 – 17.00 – Presentation – Paul Dunne, DECLG
17.00 – 17.30 – Presentation – Ian Maye, DOE
17.30 – 18.00 – Q&A and open forum

This seminar forms part of the Cross-Border Spatial Planning and Training Network (CroSPlaN II) programme managed by the International Centre for Local and Regional Development (ICLRD), funded by the Special EU Programmes Body under EU INTERREG IVA. A further Shared Services Learning Network seminar will take place on 25 November 2014.
