Mr. John Driscoll is Vice President and founding member of the Institute for International Urban Development based in Cambridge, Massachusetts and an affiliate of the National Center for Smart Growth at the University of Maryland, ICLRD’s new US partner institution. John was also the founding Director of the International Centre for Local and Regional Development (ICLRD) where, between 2006-2014, he was a key driver behind innovative spatial planning and management practices in support of cross-border and cross-community cooperation on the island of Ireland. As an urban and regional planner, he has a reputation for being both patient and persistent, and for developing results-oriented programs with colleagues that empower local leadership through education, research, and technical support. John has over 35 years of international experience working with governments, communities and international development agencies and currently serves as a planning commissioner in his home city of Lexington, Virginia, USA. |
