A Framework for Regional Priorities: ICBAN Looks to the Future

In Autumn 2020, the ICLRD will work closely with the Irish Central Border Area Network (ICBAN) in finalising the text of ‘The Framework of Regional Priorities for the Irish Central Border Region, 2021–2028’.  The Irish border region is meeting some of its greatest challenges for a generation: the Covid-19 pandemic, climate disruption, demographic change, a transition in the role and function of our towns and villages and, notably, the exit of the UK from the European Union (EU). 

Working in collaboration with the International Centre for Local and Regional Development (ICLRD), ICBAN is taking stock of its regional assets, challenges and opportunities, and, at the mid-way point in the timeframe of the RSF, is seeking to identify new and emerging strategic regional priorities for the Central Border Region – as called for during the Border Animator progamme.
