As of February 2023, Diana Fitzsimons MA (Econ) MSc (TP) FRICS FRTPI FIoD has been Chair of the ICLRD Research Forum. Diana is a Chartered Town Planner and Chartered Planning and Development Surveyor whose career has been in central government, academia, the planning appeal system, the voluntary sector and the private sector in N Ireland. She is currently a Belfast Harbour Commissioner and Chair of Belfast Harbour’s Property and Place Committee. She is also a Visiting Professor in the Built Environment at Ulster University where she lectured and undertook research as a Senior Lecturer in the 1980s and 1990s before becoming a Principal Planning Appeals Commissioner for 7 years and then Belfast Office Director of the planning consultancy, Turley, for a decade. Since retiring from Turley she was a planning consultant in her own right and also Chair of the housing association, Radius (formerly Fold). She is currently a member of the Lloyds Bank “Forum for a Better Housing Market” and has developed and helped to deliver training courses in planning for elected representatives. |
