Societal resilience as a strategic local capability – how do we build it?

Strengthening societal resilience to crises is central to numerous policy frameworks shaping global to local action. As experienced through COVID-19, recent flooding, and the ongoing cost-of-living shocks, all people and places can benefit from becoming more resilient and enabled to adapt and thrive whatever the challenge.

Yet, an implementation gap persists between the high-level aspirations of resilience and the practices needed to achieve it locally.

Societal resilience requires long-term strategic thinking and action, coupled with strong collaborative relationships, which can be difficult to achieve given continued short-termism, siloed working, and resource constraints, among other factors. Thus, this webinar will explore how to build societal resilience as a strategic local capability needed to meet the complex challenges of today and tomorrow.
